  • Pork ribs - 500 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 3 tablespoons
  • Ketchup - 120 grams
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Coleslaw - 200 grams
  • Cornbread - 2 pieces

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) and prepare a baking tray lined with aluminum foil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to create a dry rub.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork ribs, then place the ribs on the prepared baking tray.
  4. Cover the ribs tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
  5. While the ribs are baking, prepare the BBQ sauce by combining olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  7. After 2 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and discard the aluminum foil.
  8. Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs and return to the oven for another 30 minutes, uncovered, to caramelize the sauce.
  9. While the ribs are baking for the second time, prepare the coleslaw according to your preferred recipe.
  10. Once the ribs are done, let them rest for 5 minutes before cutting into portions. Serve with coleslaw and cornbread.
