- Pork ribs - 500 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Honey - 3 tablespoons
- Ketchup - 120 grams
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Coleslaw - 200 grams
- Cornbread - 2 pieces
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) and prepare a baking tray lined with aluminum foil.
- In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to create a dry rub.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork ribs, then place the ribs on the prepared baking tray.
- Cover the ribs tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
- While the ribs are baking, prepare the BBQ sauce by combining olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
- After 2 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and discard the aluminum foil.
- Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs and return to the oven for another 30 minutes, uncovered, to caramelize the sauce.
- While the ribs are baking for the second time, prepare the coleslaw according to your preferred recipe.
- Once the ribs are done, let them rest for 5 minutes before cutting into portions. Serve with coleslaw and cornbread.
