- Pork belly - 500 grams
- Brown sugar - 50 grams
- Paprika - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- BBQ sauce - 100 grams
- Water - 250 milliliters
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the pork belly, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- Place the pork belly in a baking dish and pour the apple cider vinegar and water around it.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, remove the foil and brush the BBQ sauce generously over the pork belly.
- Increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) and return the pork belly to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 20-30 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
- Once the pork belly is nicely caramelized, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the BBQ pork belly warm, drizzled with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
