- Flatbread - 2 pieces
- Mushrooms (cremini or portobello) - 250 grams, sliced
- BBQ sauce - 100 ml
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Bell pepper (any color) - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh cilantro or parsley - for garnish
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
- Cheese (mozzarella or vegan) - 100 grams, shredded
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced mushrooms, red onion, and bell pepper to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the vegetables are slightly caramelized.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the BBQ sauce until the mushrooms and vegetables are well coated.
- Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet. Evenly distribute the BBQ mushroom mixture on top of each flatbread.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the mushroom mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the flatbreads are crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley, slice, and serve hot.
