Ingredients
- Beef brisket - 500 grams
- BBQ sauce - 100 ml
- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 250 ml
- Hamburger buns - 2
- Pickles - 4 slices (for topping)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a large, oven-safe pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper, stirring for another minute until fragrant.
- Place the brisket in the pot, searing each side for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
- Pour the water and BBQ sauce over the brisket, ensuring it's well coated.
- Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven. Cook for 4 to 5 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for 10 minutes. Shred the meat using two forks.
- Return the shredded brisket to the pot with the sauce, mixing well.
- To serve, place a generous portion of the BBQ brisket on the bottom half of each hamburger bun, top with pickles, and cover with the other half of the bun.
