Ingredients

  • Beef brisket - 500 grams
  • BBQ sauce - 100 ml
  • Onion - 1 medium, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 250 ml
  • Hamburger buns - 2
  • Pickles - 4 slices (for topping)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a large, oven-safe pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper, stirring for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Place the brisket in the pot, searing each side for about 3-4 minutes until browned.
  5. Pour the water and BBQ sauce over the brisket, ensuring it's well coated.
  6. Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven. Cook for 4 to 5 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  7. Remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for 10 minutes. Shred the meat using two forks.
  8. Return the shredded brisket to the pot with the sauce, mixing well.
  9. To serve, place a generous portion of the BBQ brisket on the bottom half of each hamburger bun, top with pickles, and cover with the other half of the bun.
