  • Brisket - 400 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Kosher salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • Ketchup - 100 grams
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Hamburger buns - 2
  • Coleslaw (optional) - 100 grams

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and brown sugar to create a rub.
  3. Rub the mixture all over the brisket evenly, covering all sides.
  4. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and cover it tightly with aluminum foil.
  5. Cook the brisket in the preheated oven for 3 hours until tender.
  6. While the brisket is cooking, prepare the barbecue sauce by combining apple cider vinegar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a saucepan over medium heat.
  7. Stir the sauce occasionally and let it simmer for 15 minutes to thicken slightly.
  8. Once the brisket is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
  9. Slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices.
  10. Toast the hamburger buns lightly in a skillet or toaster.
  11. Assemble the sandwiches by placing slices of brisket on the bottom half of each bun, topping with barbecue sauce and coleslaw if desired, then placing the top bun on.
