Ingredients

  • beef short ribs - 700 grams
  • olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • salt - 1 teaspoon
  • black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • honey - 2 tablespoons
  • gluten-free barbecue sauce - 1 cup
  • water - 1 cup

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the beef short ribs.
  4. In a large oven-safe pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the short ribs on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the short ribs and set aside. In the same pot, add apple cider vinegar and honey, scraping the bottom to deglaze.
  6. Add the gluten-free barbecue sauce and water, stirring until combined.
  7. Return the short ribs to the pot, cover with a lid, and transfer to the preheated oven.
  8. Cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
