- olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- salt - 1 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- honey - 2 tablespoons
- gluten-free barbecue sauce - 1 cup
- water - 1 cup
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over the beef short ribs.
- In a large oven-safe pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the short ribs on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the short ribs and set aside. In the same pot, add apple cider vinegar and honey, scraping the bottom to deglaze.
- Add the gluten-free barbecue sauce and water, stirring until combined.
- Return the short ribs to the pot, cover with a lid, and transfer to the preheated oven.
- Cook for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
