Ingredients
- beef flank steak - 300 grams
- soy sauce - 60 ml
- honey - 30 grams
- smoked paprika - 1 tablespoon
- black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- liquid smoke - 1 teaspoon
- salt - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Slice the beef flank steak against the grain into thin strips (about 0.5 cm thick).
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, smoked paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, liquid smoke, and salt to create the marinade.
- Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Preheat your oven to the lowest setting (around 70°C or 160°F). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Arrange the marinated beef strips in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the beef jerky dehydrate for about 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm but still slightly pliable.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
