Ingredients

  • beef flank steak - 300 grams
  • soy sauce - 60 ml
  • honey - 30 grams
  • smoked paprika - 1 tablespoon
  • black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • liquid smoke - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Slice the beef flank steak against the grain into thin strips (about 0.5 cm thick).
  2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, smoked paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, liquid smoke, and salt to create the marinade.
  3. Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat your oven to the lowest setting (around 70°C or 160°F). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
  5. Arrange the marinated beef strips in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they do not overlap.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the beef jerky dehydrate for about 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm but still slightly pliable.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
