Ingredients

  • Venison steaks - 2 (200g each)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh rosemary - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Apple cider vinegar - 2 tablespoons
  • BBQ sauce - 100ml

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, and apple cider vinegar to create a marinade.
  2. Place the venison steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the venison steaks from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off.
  4. Grill the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, basting with BBQ sauce during the last minute of cooking.
  5. Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
