Ingredients
- Brussels sprouts - 300 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Balsamic vinegar - 3 tablespoons
- Honey (or sugar substitute) - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese (optional) - 2 tablespoons, grated
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half if they are large.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Brussels sprouts, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the sprouts are evenly coated.
- Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer and roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and tender, stirring halfway through.
- While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, prepare the balsamic glaze by combining balsamic vinegar and honey (or sugar substitute) in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened slightly.
- Once the Brussels sprouts are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top. Toss gently to coat.
- If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts before serving.
