Ingredients

  • Cream cheese - 200 grams
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Phyllo dough - 4 sheets
  • Unsalted butter - 30 grams, melted
  • Chopped walnuts - 50 grams
  • Honey - 30 grams
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 50 ml

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the chopped walnuts, honey, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Prepare a small baking dish by brushing it with some melted butter.
  6. Layer 2 sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  7. Spread half of the walnut mixture over the phyllo layers.
  8. Pour half of the cream cheese mixture over the walnuts and spread evenly.
  9. Repeat the layering with the remaining phyllo, walnut mixture, and cream cheese mixture.
  10. Top the final layer of cream cheese mixture with the remaining phyllo dough, brushed with melted butter.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  12. While baking, prepare a syrup by boiling water and honey together for 5 minutes.
  13. Once the cheesecake is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the honey syrup over the top.
  14. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
