Ingredients

  • Gefilte fish (fresh or jarred) - 400 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Fresh dill - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Breadcrumbs - 1/4 cup
  • Carrot - 1 small, grated (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the gefilte fish, egg, finely chopped onion, dill, parsley, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Form the mixture into oval-shaped patties, about the size of your palm.
  4. Place the patties on a greased baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over the top of each patty and then sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly on top for a crispy texture.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
