Ingredients

  • 2 Everything bagels - sliced into thin rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt - to taste
  • 1 cup canned chickpeas - drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic - minced
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt - to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil - for hummus

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced bagels, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Toss until the bagel slices are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the bagel slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  5. While the bagel chips are baking, prepare the hummus. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of water, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  6. Blend until smooth, adding more water if necessary to achieve desired consistency. Season with salt to taste.
  7. Once the bagel chips are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  8. Serve the warm bagel chips with the creamy hummus for dipping.
