- Avocado - 1 medium, mashed
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, sliced
- Greek yogurt - 4 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, mashed avocado, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked and have an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped cilantro in a small bowl.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns lightly on a separate pan or toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a turkey patty, sliced tomatoes, red onions, and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
