Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 400 grams
  • Avocado - 1 medium, mashed
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, sliced
  • Greek yogurt - 4 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, mashed avocado, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked and have an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped cilantro in a small bowl.
  5. Toast the whole wheat burger buns lightly on a separate pan or toaster.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a turkey patty, sliced tomatoes, red onions, and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
